About Us

AKATT Safety and Security Solutions

AKATT Started out simply to fill a need. It was with the recognition that over 70% of churches and other organizations had no safety and security policy in place. We decided to help. After months of research we put together a program that is practical, implementable and falls in line with law enforcement and insurance company guidelines. We are here to bring strategic security to the forefront of organizational life, without being intrusive to operational concerns.

DRILLS

When I was a child we used to have drills in school. I am old enough to remember duck and cover. We of course, executed fire drills too.

Drill provide a community understanding of what needs to be done in an emergency situation. They help to remove fear bring a sense of normalcy to the environment.

The number one issue to overcome that gets more people killed in an active killer situation is the disbelief that the event is actually occuring. It is the time delay both mentally and physically from the time the crisis begins to our response. Drills help eleviate that time delay and can save lives, when second count.

It is impornt to learn and execute lockdown, and evacuation drills to deal with emergencies. These emergencies should also include medical emergencies for you organization. What happens if a member of your church or other organization has a heart attack? Are you ready to respond. Once again, seconds, save lives. Drills of course, vary depending on the physical location and the type of event. We can help.

TYPES OF DRILLS

FIRE DRILLS -We are all accustomed to the need to execute fire drills. It is an important feature of organizational life. We have grown to accept it from the time we were children. Yet, we still do not practice them enough in some arenas. Business organizations are better at this then congregations. Yet, in either setting, we often hear, “we cant be bothered.” Preparation prior to an event is much better than chaos during the event. Chaos costs lives. Reduce the chaos by practicing drills.

ACTIVE KILLER DRILLS -This is the scenario no one wants to prepare for. Yet, it is the most traumatic of all events. How will you prepare, in advance, to save countless lives.

MEDICAL RESPONSE DRILLS– This is often overlooked but has to be addressed in organizations. We must know how to support one another in a medical emergency. Who for example will call the fire department? Who will wait out side for the EMS to arrive and guide them to the scene of the event? Who will provide first aid or CPR? Who is trained on an AED?

ENVIRONMENTAL EVENT DRILL -How do you as an organization respond to a community emergency? Are you ready to respond and provide a place of safety and refuge for your community members? Whether long term power outage, food shortage, or a natural disaster strikes, does your organization have a response plan ready? In many of the drills we practice we are executing some type of plan for leaving the structure. In a community crisis we can plan to come to a specific location to be a resource for the community. We can even communicate this to the local agencies.

Tracy Benningfield presents himself as an amicable, unimposing church goer (which he is) who is looking for his best friend in the crowd. But, most fail to realize that in doing so he is actually using years of experience and training to scope out the room. He is quietly taking note of anyone and anything that looks unnatural or out of place that could potentially cause harm to others.
Though trained to apply whatever force necessary to remove a threat, his early detection ability, combined with great interpersonal skills, routinely enable him to defuse a potential calamity before most others realize one existed.
Tracy’s instruction keys on instilling a keen sense of situational awareness in his students; followed by training to take swift action with the least force necessary to defuse the situation.
He teaches key elements from his experience and training that, when properly used, are effective in controlling a potential threat. With proper instruction these techniques are effective, even when applied by someone lacking the full scope of martial arts training. He also offers a full range of both defensive and offensive martial arts and firearms training for those interested and physically capable.

Tracy’s instruction enables any willing person to play a key role as a member of a team to ensure the safety of people at gatherings. Given the growing trend towards violence inflicted on churches, I strongly recommend Terry as an instructor of your security team!
